Casa La Naranjera

The location

Casa La Naranjera is located in the beautiful Axarquía region in southern Spain, northeast of Málaga, in the heart of Andalusia. It is a fertile, always green area. The climate is one of the best in Europe with over 320 sunny days a year. The airport of Málaga is a 70 minutes drive by car.

The villa is near the National Park Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama, an impressive mountain range with peaks (walking, hiking, cycling, horse riding, bird watching and so on). It possesses a rich and unique flora and fauna. The National Park is a natural border between the provinces of Málaga and Granada.

The villa is at the end of a concrete road with no passing traffic – it is very peaceful and private. Unlike many villas in this area there is no dirt track. A short steep (concrete) part goes down to the villa, at the end of a cul-de-sac. Situated half way between the beautiful white villages Canillas de Albaida and Cómpeta both villages are easily reached.

Canillas de Albaida, a beautiful tranquil white mountain village, is a 10 minutes walk. Behind our house a path leads you through agricultural terraces to the village. The well known village of Cómpeta is within walking distance too.

The villa offers beautiful views to the surrounding mountains, including Maroma mountain (over 2,000 m high), the hills and the Mediterranean sea. On clear days you can even see the hills of Morocco. The sunsets are an ever-changing spectacle.
